Celebrate your tot’s birthday with a fun outdoor barnyard bash
theme.

The Look

Whether your party is organized at a farm, petting zoo or in
your own backyard, a casual picnic is perfect for a farm theme.
Pick up a plastic red and white gingham tablecloth (or a raw cut of
gingham from the fabric store), and plastic or melamine plates in
bright colours. Try to find mylar balloons with farm animals on
them.

Visit a local farm or farmer’s market and pick up some bales of
hay for decoration, and gather some stuffed farm animals to sit
around them and on the table. Find some large cardboard boxes and
cut out the shape of a barn and a gate, and paint them red. Play
traditional party games like a bean bag toss, pin the tail on the
donkey (or cow, or pig!) using checked bandanas as blindfolds, or
duck, duck, goose.

The Menu

Serve up a BBQ or picnic menu of burgers, hot dogs, potato
salad, watermelon, lemonade, and of course, cake. Pick up a cake
pan in the shape of a farm animal for your cake recipe. Try the
Wilton® Cuddly Lamb pan or the Tractor pan.
